About the Social Exclusion Task Force

The Social Exclusion Task Force was created by the then Prime Minister in June 2006. The role of the Task Force is to extend the opportunity and prosperity enjoyed by the many to those in our society characterised by poverty, deprivation, isolation and deep exclusion. The Task Force engages in analytical projects that require cross government working and address issues of disadvantage. It is currently coordinating the delivery of the Government's Public Service Agreement on Socially Excluded Adults as well as developing a number of short term projects with other government departments. The Task Force is particularly committed to ensuring that the voice of front line staff and end users is included in policy development.

Main Duties

Managing the Director's office

Managing a forward diary system for the Director

Collating papers for meetings

Liaising between Private Offices and the Task Force

Drafting correspondence on behalf of the Director

Organising travel arrangements for the director and other members of the Task Force

Organising specialist events, and arranging meetings, for the Director and other members of the task Force

Occasional diary support for the Deputy Directors

Flex Business Champion, electronic information manager, and health and safety coordinator for the Task Force

The post currently reports to the Director. At present there is no line management responsibility, but this may change in the future, depending on staffing requirements within the Task Force.
