• Gathering and using information, primarily by telephone from customers, employers and other organisations.
• Processing claims to child maintenance primarily by telephone.
• Providing advice and guidance to customers and their representatives on Child Support matters. This involves dealing with queries by telephone and e-mail and amending customer details following the enquiry, debt management, negotiating arrears and securing payments by debit/credit card primarily by telephone.
• Maintaining accurate records and using computer systems.

CSA Operational teams are managed by an HEO (Higher Executive Officer) who is located alongside of their teams. You will be managed directly by an EO (Executive Officer) who will located on your team. You will be working alongside 9 other people of same grade doing similar work.

Key customers will be PWC’s (Parents with Care) and NRP’s (Non-resident Parents).

The postholder will also need to work directly with a wide range of people, both internal and external on a daily or weekly basis. These include colleagues in the Child Support Agency and Other Government Departments.
